What are school hours?
All students arrive beginning at 7:25 AM. Classes begin at 7:50 AM. Half day Pre-K students dismiss at 11:00 AM. Full day Pre-K students along with the rest of the school dismiss at 2 PM.
Lunch for Kindergarten and Grades 5-8 is from 11:30 AM-11:50 AM.
Lunch for Grades 1-4 is from 11:50 AM-12:10 PM.
Recess for Kindergarten and Grades 5-8 is from 11:50AM-12:10 PM.
Recess for Grades 1-4 is from 11:30 AM-11:50 AM.
What curriculum is followed?
Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary School follows the curriculum offered by The Archdiocese of Philadelphia. Details regarding the curriculum can be found on the Archdiocese of Philadelphia's website.
Is busing available?
Yes, the State of Pennsylvania provides busing to Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary School from Avon Grove School District, Kennett Square School District, Unionville School District, Oxford School District and Octorara School District.
Do students wear uniforms?
Yes, all students are required wear uniforms.
What extracurricular opportunities does Assumption BVM School provide?
Students can participate in a variety of extracurricular opportunities. Assumption BVM offers Choir, Band, Student Council, Yearbook and sports such as Basketball, Volleyball, Baseball, Cheerleading, Track and Field, Cross-Country and Football. Additional extracurriculars such as Soccer Shots, After School Art Club, Cooking Club, and Karate Classes are offered throughout the year.
Do you provide breakfast and lunch?
Breakfast and Hot lunch are provided free every day at Assumption BVM. Our breakfast and lunch programs are offered through Nutritional Development Services (NDS).
What are the class sizes?
Our average class size is 20.
Do you provide tuition assistance?
Assumption BVM School does provide tuition assistance for families who qualify.
